A Family Legacy Since 1996
Our journey began in 1996 when my father partnered with my grandfather—an army veteran and skilled master welder—to acquire the local package store as he transitioned from his welding profession. During these early days, my grandfather personally oversaw most operations, supported by a small crew of part-time employees who helped maintain inventory.
What started as a family venture has deep roots in service and craftsmanship, as my grandfather brought his military discipline and welding precision to running the neighborhood's cherished package store. The operation remained intimate and community-focused from the start.
The next generation joined the family tradition in 2006, when I started as a teenager, learning the business from the ground up by stocking shelves and maintaining the beer coolers. This hands-on experience became the foundation of my understanding of our family's commitment to hard work and dedication.
When my grandfather fell ill in 2011 and required hospitalization, I naturally assumed responsibility for the store's daily operations, managing everything from inventory procurement to payroll and staff coordination. Upon his recovery, he recognized my dedication and chose to step back from the day-to-day management, allowing him to pursue his true passion for competitive western horseback riding.
This transition marked a new chapter for our family business, as my grandfather could finally dedicate time to his beloved horses and the show circuit he had always cherished. His cowboy spirit and competitive nature, which had driven the store's success for years, now found expression in the arena with his three prized horses.
In late 2021, our beloved founder left us after battling heart failure, leaving a profound impact on everyone who knew him. His dedication to our community was unwavering - he believed in giving back and showing up, even when it wasn't expected of him, because he felt it was simply the right thing to do.
His attention to detail and care for customers defined everything he did. From his days as a welder, he understood life's simple frustrations, like finding warm beer at the end of a long day. That's why he made our walk-in cooler the centerpiece of our establishment - ensuring every customer could count on perfectly chilled beverages. His legacy of community service and genuine hospitality continues to guide everything we do today.
My grandfather looked up to John Wayne as his greatest inspiration, yet he became my most influential role model. Through his example, he showed me the value of dedication, resilience in facing challenges, and the importance of treating others with dignity and kindness.
